Service Description

6 Week Session Are you and your dog ready to make a difference in people’s lives? Our Therapy Dog Training class is designed to prepare you both for meaningful, impactful visits—whether to hospitals, nursing homes, schools, or beyond. Requirements: Completion of an Advanced Obedience class at our facility. Dogs must be at least 1 year old to be eligible for certification. Certification may be achieved in one 6-week session, but multiple sessions may be recommended based on individual readiness What’s Included: + Evaluation of your dog’s therapy dog potential + Extensive distraction training and confidence building + Real-world exposure to wheelchairs, walkers, meet & greets, and more + Emphasis on handler education—choosing the right environments and understanding best practices for safe, meaningful visits + Ongoing focus on manners, obedience, and public access behaviors While this course includes off-leash work for training purposes, leashes must remain on your dog at all times during visits and in class for safety and control. With expert guidance and real-world preparation, this class equips you and your dog with the tools, confidence, and polish needed to become an exceptional therapy dog team.
